Here at The North Branch Cafe we offer the unique opportunity to try wines by 1oz, 2oz or 5oz pours with our Enomatic wine service. We encourage a sense of adventure and a great chance to taste and compare wines you might not have tried before.   Most of our wines come from small growers who practice organic, sustainable and/or biodynamic farming.   If you want to learn more about these practices, click on these links:   Sustainable     Organic     Biodynamic

Our featured wine selection changes regularly. See our current wine menu below.  Ask us for recommendations on pairings with some of our local food offerings!  One of our joys and aspirations is to find those pairings that really "pop", and invite you to share the experience!

Each wine is available in a 1 oz tasting portion, a 2 oz half glass, or a 5 oz full glass.


 

WHITES

A lithe and lean Chardonnay from the northern reaches of the Burgundy region.  Aromas and flavors of white flowers, golden apple and white peach, with an elegant, clean finish.    S

Honig  Sauvignon Blanc       Napa Valley, California       1oz  $2.25,   2oz  $4.25,    5oz  $10.75 

Bright, crisp and fresh, with a lovely, lingering finish.  Aromas and flavors of peaches, ripe pear and lime with floral and tropical notes.  This winery is a leader in California sustainable practices.   S

  

Font-Mars, Picpoul de Pinet    Languedoc, France   1oz   $1.50,  2oz   $2.75,    5oz   $7.00

White peach and rose aromas with lively exotic fruit flavors. Picpoul,  a varietal grown in the Languedoc region of Southern France, is distinguished by its lush mouthfeel, with a lively acidity which makes it a perfect food wine. S

 

 

REDS

A dark and earthy Pinot, juicy with a compelling minerality.   O

Rabble Winery,  Zinfandel   Paso Robles, California     1oz   $2.50,   2oz   $5.00,   5oz   $12.00

Lighter than a typical California Zin.  Bright and fresh red fruit flavors with a touch of pepper and spice.  Made more in the style of its Italian cousin Primitivo.  The label is an historic woodblock print depicting the Tempest Over Rome.  

RacemiAnarkos   Puglia, Italy     1oz   $2.00,   2oz   $4.00,   5oz   $9.50

A blend of indigenous varietals Negroamaro, Primitivo (known in California as Zinfandel), and Malvasia Nera, this intriguing and intense wine is juicy with deep dried fruit and herb flavors, and a fabulous finish. O

Ego Bodegas,  Goru Verde  Jumilla, Spain      1oz   $1.50,   2oz   $3.00,   5oz   $7.00

100% Monastrell made from organic grapes, this wine has dark cherry and dried fig flavors with hints of black olive, tea and tobacco.  Smooth and easy to drink with enough character to keep you interested.  The Washington Post calls this one of the best value wines this year.  O

Supple, rich and full-bodied, with black fruit flavors and soft spice, and a clean, velvety finish.  O
